Privacy Policy

Effective June 28, 2026 · DialectX LLC

1. Introduction

DialectX LLC (“DialectX,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes the information we collect when you use the DialectX web application and related services accessed through your browser (the “Service”), how we use that information, and the choices available to you. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the Service:

  • User-entered text and content. Text, voice transcripts, documents, and images you submit are collected solely to process the automated translation, dictionary lookup, or related linguistic feature you requested.
  • Account information. If you create an account, we collect your email address and authentication credentials.
  • Subscription and billing metadata. Subscription status, tier, and transaction identifiers. All billing is processed by our secure web payment processor, Stripe; payment card details are handled by Stripe and are never stored on DialectX servers. We do not use Apple or Google in-app billing.
  • Usage and diagnostic data. Aggregate usage counts, language selections, error logs, and device/browser metadata used to maintain Service reliability and enforce fair-use quotas.
  • Browser cookies and localStorage. We use first-party cookies and browser localStorage to keep you signed in, remember interface preferences (such as theme and selected language), and track the 3-free-try guest counter for unregistered visitors. No advertising or cross-site tracking cookies are used.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected to:

  • process and return your translation, dictionary, or transcription requests;
  • authenticate your account and provide tier-appropriate access;
  • process subscription payments and manage billing lifecycle events;
  • maintain Service security, integrity, and availability;
  • diagnose technical issues and improve translation quality;
  • communicate essential service notices and respond to support inquiries.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your data. We do not share, rent, or disclose your data to unauthorized third parties. We share information only with the limited categories of vetted service providers strictly necessary to operate the Service, including:

  • our cloud infrastructure and database provider (for hosting and storage);
  • our AI/translation model providers (to generate translation output);
  • our payment processor, Stripe (to process subscriptions);
  • law enforcement or regulators where required by valid legal process.

All such providers are contractually obligated to use your data solely to perform the services they provide to DialectX and to maintain appropriate safeguards.

5. Data Safety and Security

DialectX LLC implements industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), encryption at rest for stored records, scoped database access controls, row-level security policies, role-based authorization, and routine security review of dependencies. While no system can be guaranteed completely secure, we work to continuously improve our security posture.

6. Data Retention

Translation submissions are retained only as long as necessary to deliver and improve the Service. Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, associated personal data and cached translation history are removed via automated lifecycle processes, subject to limited records we are required to retain for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

7. Your Choices

You may access, update, or delete your account information at any time from within the Service. You may unsubscribe from non-essential communications via the unsubscribe link included in such messages.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. International Users

DialectX may process and store information in jurisdictions outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to such transfer, subject to the safeguards described in this Policy.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Effective” date above. Continued use of the Service following any change constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

11. Contact

Privacy questions or requests may be submitted through the in-app support channel. See also our Terms of Service.
